L’Oreal Infallible Matte-Matic Liner Review

January 7, 2016

I love a matte eyeliner and finding one at drugstore pricing made this a Must Purchase.

I bought this L’Oreal Infallible Matte-Matic liner in Taupe Grey which I thought would be good for work wear. Sometimes the blackest of blacks can be a little harsh for the office (though I admit I toss that rule out the window most days).

This color was similar to some Urban Decay matte liners I already own, so I swatched them all together to compare.

Top to bottom: UD Smoke, L’Oreal Taupe Grey, UD Sabbath

The L’Oreal is a warmer, true grey in color compared to Urband Decay in Smoke which is a close, slightly cooler match.

UD liners are known for their lasting power, so I decided to rub these swatches with a dry washcloth just to see how they’d hold up. The Matte-Matic rubbed off most, not such a great thing for my super oily lids.

After 15 rubs with a dry washcloth.

It can be hard to get UD eyeliner to sharpen to a good point and this L’Oreal is automatic sharpening because it twists up.  But Urban Decay applies very smoothly while the L’Oreal tugged at my eyelids..a lot.

The winner here?  I think I’d prefer to spend $8 more and buy my trusty Urban Decay.

    Isn’t it a L’oreal not a Maybelline product?
